Aesculap, Inc., has an excellent opportunity for a Clinical Application Specialist - Hydrocephalus.

SUMMARY:

The individual is responsible for the clinical support of Aesculap shunt products within the high-speed Neurosurgery area. As well, this individual will support other products as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

. Coordinates and conducts in-services for clinical staff prior to product evaluation.
. Provides on-site clinical support to accounts during the product evaluation process.
. Supports sales representatives in demonstrations to nursing management and hospital administration as scheduled.
. Works with Product Management to develop quality education/in-service materials.
. Works with Field Trainers and Product Management to develop and deliver sales force training and clinical training programs.
. Provides ongoing clinical support to sales force.
. Maintains an accurate record of sales and pending accounts, surgeons, and other key people.
. Assists at Aesculap Academy courses and convention workshops as required.
. Participates in trade shows and convention activities as required.
. Completes special projects as assigned.


OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

. Requires excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
. Computer skills in Windows, Lotus e-mail, Excel, Power Point & word processing desirable. SAP experience also highly desirable.
. This position may require the handling of instruments that may have been contaminated by blood or other bodily fluids. In compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, Aesculap will provide a safe working environment for all employees.



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

May determine methods and procedures on new assignments and may give direction to other personnel when instructed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

. Advanced degree and/or clinical specialist certification, nursing education or in-service background a plus. Sales and/or customer relations management background also a plus.
. Registered nurse preferred with at least 2 years experience or other relative clinical experience.

LANGUAGE AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS; REASONING ABILITY:

Language Skill: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic business math including manipulating spreadsheets in Excel and create appropriate graphs.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
