Supervises Perinatal Data Center Birth Certificate Office and operations. Coordinates clinical data and documentation systems for Women & Infants Services (currently GE Centricity Perinatal and Site of Care systems). Functions as project manager for maintaining and implementing clinical system installations and upgrades e, and coordinates collaboration with vendors, IT and customers activities related to these clinical systems.
Coordinates the clinical computer education to ensure integration of technology in the patient care process, coordinates education of all users and assists in the change process required. Maintains clinical data and statistical reporting for medical and nursing committees, and creates reports for service line medical and administrative nursing directors
Education: BS in nursing or health related field strongly preferred; Master's Degree in Clinical Informatics preferred
License, certification, and/or registration requirements: Active and current RN licensure in California; Certification in Nursing Informatics preferred
Experience: Three years recent clinical experience in acute care hospital setting in perinatal and/or neonatal nursing required; Experience with information systems required, preferably related to clinical data; Experience in the selection, implementation, support, maintenance or training of clinical information systems preferred; Demonstrated advanced knowledge and competence in clinical informatics; Demonstrated expertise in project coordination
Knowledge: Knowledge of HIPPA standards; Demonstrated project management skills in acute healthcare setting; Effective verbal and written communication skills; Effective adult learning education and teaching skills; Well organized and ability to set priorities and meet deadlines; Ability to develop effective working relationships with a variety of individuals; Ability to be self-directed; Ability to utilize clinical research
Special Skills and/or Equipment Used: Basic understanding of Information Technology fundamentals of client/server workstations and networks.
