Alta Bates Summit Medical Center is San Francisco East Bay's largest private, not-for-profit medical center with a total of 1,082 licensed beds. Each of our campuses has 24-hour emergency, obstetric and medical/surgical services in both Oakland and Berkeley. At Alta Bates Summit Medical Center, you will find an environment that reflects the values and mission to support healthy living. This position supervises, orients and trains assigned personnel. Delegates activities to assure continuity of service in the Medical Center.
Requirements:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); certificate from technical school. At least two years of recent supervisorial experience. One year of recent experience as an Operating Technician or Central Processing/Supply Technician. Graduate of an approved Central Processing/Service course or accredited Operating Room Technician course. Valid certification as a Central Processing/Service or Operating Room Technician. Knowledge of basic bacteriology, anatomy, and medical terminology. Knowledge of the general use, identification, care, and assembly of surgical instruments. Basic principles and methods of isolation, aseptic technique, decontamination, sterilization, and sterilization controls. Knowledge of the types of equipment and supplies dispensed by CPD and its general use required. Good communication skills and manual dexterity. Excellent organizational skills.
