Director - Distribution Outdoor (WCDC) (Sports Management/Operations)
The Director, Distribution Operations is responsible for the day-to-day management and operation of our Distribution Center in Visalia, CA. This DC services multiple coalitions and business units shipping a wide range of the Outdoor Coalition and Action Sports products. Responsibilities include receipt of finished good, storage of finsihed goods, inventory tracking and control, processing and value added services, and order fulfillment for shipments across multiple channels to include wholesale, retail, and eCommerce. Additonally the Director of Distribution is responsible for building and maintaining connectivity to the business units and customer service. Administration responsibilities include managing the office staff, creating and achieving budget objectives that meet the coaltion and business unit objectives. Establish control-related standards and procedures. The Director will also assist the VP in providing resources to supplement and support our multi-coalition DC in Brampton, Canada.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
Years of Related Professional Experience: 8+.
BA/BS in Business, Engineering or related field 6 years experience in Distribution required.
Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Computer proficiency with experience in MS Office Suite
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage and lead
Working knowledge of inventory management, transportation and shipping
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Must be able to relate well with individuals at all levels of the organization
Experience in creating and managing budgets
Special Requirements:
Some overnight travel required (up to 20%)
Must be able to work flexible hours and weekends as volume and seasonal demands dictate
Key Responsibilities
Coordinates and communicates with management and external partners on matters related to shipping, service, compliance, receiving, quality, production plans, value added service, cost and human resources.
Oversees receiving, special handling, ticketing, labeling, finishing, auditing, picking, packing, and routing to facilitate highly accurate and timely shipments.
Plan, organize, adminster, and report on the DC budget.
Staff development and training
Track overall inventory movement on a daily basis. Manage and report on inbound and outbound handling procedures, transactions, exceptions and shortages. Manage shipment quality and accuracy.
Build and maintain string management/associate relations as well as maintain community relations.
Evaluate and develop methods and processes to improve customer service and reduce overall cost.
Manage the quality, accuracy, cost, production, safety, and on-time shipping.
