Embedded Software Development Engineer
Ampex Data Systems Corporation located in Redwood City, CA, is a leader in solid-state recording systems that are uniquely suited for highbandwidth recording in avionic applications. Our recorders are used extensively in commercial flight-test and in military and homeland security applications.
We are seeking a senior level embedded software engineer with strong C/C++ programming skills (5+ years experience) in a UNIX/LINUX operating systems environment. This engineer will write programs to efficiently manage the data flow from data sources (ranging from standard NICs to custom camera and sensor interfaces) to the storage medium (ranging from standard SAS/SATA/RAID storage to proprietary solid-state media). Experience with storage protocols and applications (iSCSI, SCSI, Fibre Channel, is desirable).
This position will work closely with hardware engineers to develop software interfaces to new data acquisition hardware.
Experience with network protocols on the network layer, the transport layer and on the application layer level (e.g. lpv4 multicast, IGMP, TCP/IP, UDP) is desirable.
Requirements:
Working knowledge of C, C++, the Linux OS Good writing and communication skills Skilled in design, coding, and debugging of both C/C++ Familiarity with test equipment such as logic analyzers and scopes Minimum of five years work experience in embedded software development Familiarity with STL, Boost, HTML, SQL Experience with real-time operating systems a plus Experience with embedded hardware design a plus Education: Minimum of bachelor?s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering preferred
