Description Under minimal supervision, performs complex maintenance and repair of equipment. Performs documentation of equipment maintenance and assists to maintain stocking levels of spare parts. Key Responsibilities • Performs regularly scheduled preventive maintenance of production equipment which is complex, according to the company's standard operation procedures, safety policies, Federal QSR, and ISO 9001 international standards. • Records information on equipment maintenance and/or repair forms. • Leads other technicians in the assembly, modification and/or repair of production equipment. • Responsible for the overall spare parts to technicians, places purchase orders for spare parts, and maintains stocking levels of spare parts. • Maintains cleanroom standards, practices, and housekeeping according to standard operating procedures and the illness and injury prevention program. • Cleans production equipment before the equipment is moved into the cleanroom. • Trains other technicians in equipment maintenance and repair as well as documentation completion. • Reports causes of equipment failures and assists in resolution. • Records data for process improvement projects. Quality System Requirements In all actions, demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures. Requirements: Minimum education: High School or equivalent. Must include high school level courses in electronics, mechanical design or physics. Minimum experience: 3-5 years equipment maintenance experience in the medical device, pharmaceutical or biotech industry. Skills: Basic math skills. Able to comprehend spoken and written English. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated experience using at least three (3) of the following: voltmeter, amp meter, drill press, band saw, belt sander, or table saw. Valid California State driver’s license.
Working Conditions Machine shop. Personnel are periodically gowned to work in a class 10,000 cleanroom.
