The WVSG Recruitment team is currently seeking a Machinist for our client in South San Francisco, CA.

Duration: Contract

Shift Available: Swing and/or Graveyard

Pay Rate: Depending on Experience

Our client is an internationally recognized outsource solution provider for complex modules ranging from liquid & gas delivery systems to turnkey system integration.

The Machinist will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Under limited supervision, typically machines parts made from aluminum having simple shapes where machining is all in the same axis


• Must be able to determine if job is running correctly or if tools are broken or damaged while jobs are being run


• Must understand basic dimensional print reading. Typically has to maintain dimensional tolerances between +/- .002 and +/-.005 or greater


• Must be able to use micrometers, calipers, indicators, height and depth and bore gages, etc.


• Runs more complex aluminum parts and parts made of stainless steel under close supervision


• Operator will load, unload and inspect parts


• Operator will maintain accurate part counts, update router paperwork, segregate parts as required and fill out SPC documentation


• Operator will be responsible for quality of the parts being produced and for achieving production standards


• Position will require de-burring and polishing parts at the machine on some work


• Operator to report any equipment problems


• Must understand and follow documented operator and set-up procedures


• Responsible for machine and area housekeeping including cleaning the machine, removing chips from the machine, moving material and parts as necessary


• Standards for efficiency should exceed 90%


• Scrap rates should be under 3%
