A medical device company in the San Francisco bay area is looking for a Technical Writer to join their team.  You will be doing writing for the Engineering department on how to assemble products.



Technical Writer Responsibilities:



• Write installation, assembly, and test work instructions for Medical Device

• Write rework Instructions that are approved by Manufacturing and Quality departments

• Write and get approvals on Risk Assessments based on technical input from Engineers





Requirements:

Technical Writer Requirements:

• Excellent writing and editing skills. You must have extensive experience writing installation guides, user guides, assembly instructions in a manufacturing environment. for technical audiences such as assemblers, test technicians, or field service engineers.

• 3+ years experience writing technical documentation

• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical jargon or better yet, experience using them

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, along with the ability to adapt to various methods of obtaining information from subject matter experts

• Ability to be flexible and to adapt to changing responsibilities, situations, tools, and requirements

• Ability to learn new technical subject matter quickly

• Ability to work as a self starter who can work in a fast-paced, agile, and collaborative work environment with minimal supervision

 

Strong Pluses:

• Experience documenting or using open source products 

• Experience using a wiki for writing and delivering documentation 

• Experience documenting Manufacturing and Assembly Working instructions

• Experience documenting mechanical and electrical assemblies
