Purpose of Position
Hitachi Consulting's High Technology Practice is looking for a Vice Presidentto join their leadership team; This VP will lead business development efforts and manage projects for current and new accounts in the HighTechnology Practice. The VP must have a proven background working with High Technology companies and understands the unique requirements of these companies, and have the ability to interact with industry executives.
As a Vice President, this individual will be responsible for translating organizational visions and strategies into specific and measurable goals for the High Technology Practice.
The Vice President must:
•Lead and manage industry practitioners by providing strategic direction and fostering cross team collaboration. •Develop a shared vision, know when and how to put together teams to solve problems. •Select and grow the right employees for team and individual assignments and influence others at all levels of the organization. •Plan and execute by managing time and priorities, clarify responsibilities, •Delegate effectively, and provide an efficient organizational structure.
Responsibilities: The Vice President will be accountable for practice management and leadership of Hitachi Consulting services revenue for Western US market focused primarily on the High Technology industry.
The candidate must have a strategic and conceptual understanding of the professional services business and end-to-end solution service offerings (such as ERP, CRM, SCM, and Strategic Services) and enterprise Applications such as Oracle.
Be adaptable to the changing market and organizational conditions, which will be accomplished by identifying major issues and trends, and how they will affect the business, and develop innovative solutions to position the organization aggressively for this change.
•You will have extensive experience with consultative solutions sales, and identifying leading alliance relationships. •Encourage high standards of performance and inspires others to define new opportunities and continuously improve the organization. •Create and foster a team environment that encourages people to take risks and do their best. •Make effective use of personnel and other resources to maximize the potential of respective service line. •Provide mentoring and career development to service line management by setting high personal standards of performance and commitment.
80% new and existing Business Development, Alliance and Client relationships: • Identify new business opportunities in High Tech Industries target accounts • Build a robust network in the Western US market • Serve as the Officer in Charge for High Technology Consulting projects • Developing and maintaining executive relationships in our Quad 1 target accounts
20% Managing the Practice: • Providing leadership and career development to our practitioners • Help attract and retain top talent for our practice. Demonstrate capability to deliver client solutions in a billable delivery capacity – minimum 25% annually
Required •15+ years combined experience in High Tech and the consulting industry •Candidate should possess a solid understand of the current issues and pain points facing global High Tech companies and their suppliers •Candidate would have a personal rolodex within High Technology companies that will be the foundation to building a business •Candidate would be an accomplished public speaker and/or have multiple High Tech Industries association relationships •Published articles specifically around High Technology type issues would be a plus •Has led/managed a consulting practice of 10+ people •Has successfully sold/delivered $3-5M+ in annual management consulting services •Strong leadership skills – Leads by example •Passionate and highly energetic – self-starter •Strong focus on planning for and achieving results •Confident, persuasive and able to communicate effectively at all levels •High professional and personal integrity; Very high ethical standards •Proven track record of juggling business development, client side delivery and people management skills •Bachelor's Degree
Travel Extensive travel to clients in the western US is required.
