VICE PRESIDENT/SENIOR DIRECTOR, PRODUCT MARKETING at ALTERYX, INC.
Job Description
The Vice President/Senior Director of Product Marketing will hold overall responsibility for the definition, positioning, product requirements and go-to-market strategy of Alteryx's product lines. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, staffing, and managing all product marketing and GTM functions to achieve the company objective of sales, growth and market share while ensuring a consistent marketing message and positioning on a worldwide basis consistent with the corporate direction. S/he brings an ability to be unorthodox, hands on and comfortable in a “do it yourself” fast growth environment. This role will work closely the entire executive leadership to develop a truly integrated marketing plan and go-to-market strategy that builds synergies and leverages the entire operations of Alteryx. The role will report to the President and COO.
Responsibilities
Define marketing strategy and manage integrated marketing planning including corporate positioning, market and competitive analysis, customer segment selection and go-to-market plans
Defining and creating comprehensive marketing strategy as well as product marketing strategy
Managing product launches including: defining product release requirements and go-to-market strategy plan
Hone understanding and relaying the product positioning, key benefits to target customers
Collaborate with and interface product management and sales for product development, and product pricing
Oversee additional product marketing responsibilities including analyst/public relations, sales training, presentations, sales tools, competitive analysis, and general sales support
Work closely with President and VP of Sales to develop Industry GTM while managing channel and partner strategies and programs
Collaborate w/ marketing communications on branding, advertising, white papers, trade shows, seminars and events, collateral materials, and website design and content either directly or on an outsourced basis
Collaborate w/ marketing communications on direct marketing programs for demand creation and lead generation, and interface with VP Sales for lead tracking and management
Act as spokesperson for product-related announcements with press and analysts, and at industry events
Be a role model for the company culture
Desired Skills & Experience
Ability to plan and manage at both strategic and operational levels
Track record of developing and implementing marketing and sales strategies that have consistently met or exceeded planned objectives
History of providing personal leadership through example
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a results-driven, team-oriented environment
Demonstrated ability to manage often outsourced marketing activities
Experience working with business and industry press
Strong strategic planning and analysis skills in sales, marketing, and business strategy
Notable social media presence
International marketing experience
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree preferred in Computer Science, Engineering or Business. MBA or MS in Computer Science a plus.
At least 10 years of experience in Enterprise Software and significant experience in Analytics / BI market; ideally in product marketing, product management, and/or business development roles
Broad exposure to customer/industry use cases for Analytics/BI
Collaborative approach and ability to work well with others
