Web Developer
Our client, a major educational institution in Southern Orange County is seeking a Web Developer for a 6+ month project in Irvine, CA. The Web Developer is responsible for the development and enhancement of large scale E-commerce web-based applications in a team-oriented environment. The Web Developer will be responsible for new programming and maintaining, enhancing, deploying, and debugging existing applications. They will also maintain software design documentation including system specifications and integration plans for use by other programming staff and system administrators. The Web Developer writes functional and design specifications for reports and web-based processes and will work closely and communicate with end-users as necessary. Qualified candidates must have the follwing:
3-5 years of experience programming and configuring software and web applications for complex administrative and E-commerce systems.
Strong object oriented programming experience.
Strong ability to design, write, test, and debug computer programs, command line scripts, application configuration files; experience in same.
Expertise with SQL database design and implementation, with emphasis on MS SQL Server and T-sql.
Expansive knowledge and experience with HTML/XHTML, XML, CSS, , C , classic ASP, and JavaScript. Knowledge of web application security best practices.
Knowledge and experience with network-based information distribution and retrieval protocols, tools and technologies such as SFTP, SSH, SSL, HTTP, SMTP.
Experience with common E-commerce web protocols and http messaging.
Knowledge of the network-based software environment: client/server concepts, distributed file systems.
Ability to integrate services with different technologies and configurations.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
Excellent communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical people such as team members, management, clients and end-users .
Experience in writing detailed, concise, understandable, technical and non-technical documentation.
Ability to work independently and within a programming team environment.
Ability to develop, maintain multiple projects, and track of a number of continuing problems, requests, and projects.
Ability to work and communicate both frequently and effectively in a highly interactive team environment.
Ability to adhere to established project management practices and work well as a member of a team in a project environment.
Ability to maintain a positive attitude and contribute, both as an individual and a team member, to achieve the goals of the department.
Must have excellent writing skills.
